OHT - 23 - EXCURSIONS - NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK - CARNIVORE & MAASAI BOMAS:

 

One Day Tour. 

Morning game drive in the Nairobi National Park just 13 km from the city center and visit to the Hippo pool. Lunch at Carnivore restaurant famous for its succulent steaks, Bar-be-queue dishes and game meat.

 

After lunch visit the Orphanage where orphaned and wounded animals are cared for, then proceed to the Bomas of Kenya for an impressive display of Kenyan dancing and a Tour around the village and return to your Nairobi Hotel in late evening.

OHT - 24 - LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK.

 

One Day - The Flamingo Trail.

Depart your Hotel in Nairobi and drive into the Great Rift Valley past Long'onot, Lake Naivasha and Elementaita to Nakuru home of millions of pink flamingoes and many other bird species. Lunch at the Lodge in the park. Game drive around the lake, stop over for tea/ snacks at Naivasha on your way back to Nairobi.

OHT - 25 - 1 NIGHTS/ 2 DAYS - THE ARK TRAILl.

 

DAY -1 - Nairobi - Treetops or The Ark. 

Morning drive through traditional Kikuyu land to the Aberdare country club for lunch. Late afternoon transfer to the Ark or Treetops game drive en-route. Dinner and Overnight.

 

DAY - 2 - Treetops or the Ark - Nairobi 

After breakfast return to Nairobi with game drive en route arriving after lunch.

DAY- 2 - Masai Mara. 

Full day game viewing at the park famous for its Black manned Lion, great concentration of plain game, Elephant, Buffalo, Antelope, Hippo, Crocodile, Cheetah and sometimes Leopard. Meals and overnight at the Lodge.

 

DAY - 3 - Masai Mara - Nairobi.

After breakfast return to Nairobi arriving before Lunch.

DAY - 2 - Masai Mara.                   

Full day game viewing and exploring this spectacular National Park. Meals and Overnight at the Lodge. 

 

DAY - 3 - Masai Mara - Nakuru.  

After breakfast drive through Narok to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for Lunch at the Lodge. Afternoon game viewing in the park noted for its huge concentrations of flamingoes. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

 

DAY - 4 - Lake Nakuru - Nairobi. 

After breakfast spend the morning watching and photographing birds and animals in the park. After Lunch leave for Nairobi stopping for panoramic views of the Great Rift Valley. Arriving in your Nairobi Hotel in the afternoon.

DAY - 2 - Mt. Kenya - Lake  Nakuru. 

After breakfast drive around the Aberdare Mountains and descend into the Rift Valley at Nakuru for lunch. Afternoon stroll along the lake viewing the millions of flamingoes. Dinner and overnight.

 

DAY - 3 - Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara. 

After breakfast drive south along the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara for Lunch at Keekorok Lodge. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

DAY - 2 - Masai Mara. 

Morning and afternoon game drives in the Mara. Meals and overnight at the Lodge. 

 

DAY - 3 - Masai Mara - Tree Tops. 

Depart Masai Mara after breakfast and drive to Lake Naivasha for Lunch. After Lunch proceed on to the Outspan for late check - in to Treetops. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

 

DAY - 4 - Tree Tops - Samburu.

MOUNT KENYA - THE SECOND HIGHEST MOUNTAIN IN AFRICA.

 

Mount Kenya, 5,199 m, is the second highest peak in Africa. It is an ancient extinct volcano, during whose period of activity  2.6 - 3.1 million years ago it is thought to have risen to 6,500 m. There are twelve remnant glaciers on the mountain, all receding rapidly, and four secondary peaks that sit at the head of the U-shaped glacial valleys. 

 

The area inscribed includes the upper slopes of the mountain, and two salient which make up the National Park and surrounding Forest Reserve. With its rugged glacier-clad summits and forested middle slopes, Mount Kenya is one of the most impressive landscapes in Eastern Africa. 

The evolution and ecology of its afro-alpine flora also provide an outstanding example of ecological processes.

 

 

OHT - 30A - 6 NIGHTS/ 7 DAYS - MOUNTAIN ROCK ROUTE TRAIL.

 

DAY -1 - Nairobi - Mountain Rock Hotel. 

After breakfast transfer from your hotel to mountain climbing base Mountain Rock Hotel at 1950m. above sea level.  for lunch. Afternoon acclimatization nature walk to Mau Mau water falls at 2050m. above sea level. Dinner and overnight.

 

DAY- 2 - Mountain Rock Hotel - Old Moses Camp. 

Early breakfast with picnic lunch depart to the park gate 2600m above sea level begin hiking to the Old Moses Camp 3300m. above sea level for dinner and overnight.

 

DAY - 3 - Old Moses Camp - Shiptons Camp. 

After breakfast with picnic lunch hike gradually to Shiptons camp 4200m.above sea level  for dinner and overnight.

 

DAY - 4 - Shiptons - American Camp.

Breakfast with picnic lunch proceed to American Camp 4250m. above sea level Dinner and overnight.

 

DAY - 5 - American Camp - Point Lenana - Shiptons Camp. 

Early breakfast depart to attempt the Alpine ascent of Point Lenana  at an altitude of 4985m. above sea level. Mt. Kenya’s third highest peak. A short time is taken to admire the magic surroundings before descending to Shiptons camp at 4200m. above sea level for dinner and overnight.

 

DAY - 6 - Shiptons Camp - Sirimon - Mountain Rock Hotel.

After breakfast descend leisurely via Sirimon and transfer to Mountain Rock Hotel. Meals and overnight.

 

DAY - 7 - Mountain Rock Hotel - Nairobi. 

After breakfast at leisure to rest your legs after a long trek. Early lunch and transfer back to your Nairobi Hotel.

OPTION ROUTE TWO.

OHT - 30B - 4 NIGHTS/ 5 DAYS - NARO MORU CHOGORIA ROUTE TRAIL.

DAY – 1 - Departure from Nairobi is at 09:30hrs for transfer to Naro Moru Mountain Rock hotel for lunch. An acclimatization walk will follow to the Famous Mau Mau Caves and Burguret Water Falls. After photography proceed to Hikers Camp (2,309m), for dinner and overnight. 11km, 4 to 5 hours hike.

 

DAY – 2 - After breakfast, hike via the Naro Moru gate to Met Station (3,040m) for dinner and overnight. 13km hike, 5 to 7 hrs, with lunch en-route.

 

DAY – 3 - After breakfast hike to Mackinders Camp (4,200m) for dinner and overnight. 13km, 6 to 7 hrs hike with lunch en-route.

 

DAY – 4 - Attempt Point Lenana at 02:30hrs and be at the peak before the sunrise. After the sunrise, descend the mountain to Mintos hut for a full breakfast. After breakfast descend with lunch en-route to Chogoria Bandas camp for dinner and overnight.

 

DAY – 5 - After breakfast, descend the mountain and connect with your transfer vehicle to Chogoria town for lunch. After lunch drive on to Nairobi with arrival in the late afternoon.
